[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Paul Oakenfold Bunkka.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Paul Oakenfold Bunkka.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Indonesia...
I removed your addition to Indonesia saying that Independence was gained from the Dutch. On the surface that statement might look fine to the uninitiated, but it is POV. Indonesian's will tell you that their sovereignty wasn't up to the Dutch in the first place to give them, rather it was always Indonesian and merely assumed by the Dutch. I.e., it's too complex an issue to adequately present in the few limited words of an info box.
On the other hand, no-one's suggesting we hide the fact that Indonesia was under colonial Dutch administration - that's different to questions of independence, sovereignty, etc. Thus, if you could provide info that said something like "Former Dutch Colony" rather than saying who gave independence/sovereignty to who, then I'd be happy. kind regards --Merbabu (talk) 03:12, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- PS, I will try to insert compromise position - give me 5 mins and see what you think. --Merbabu (talk) 03:18, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- Ah - nice to hear about your interests and Sumatran connections. ANd thanks for the compliment. Yes, there is an Indonesia project although it's struggling with activity at the moment. But we've done some great work in the last 18 months with only hand full of involved editors.
- If you're interested in Indonesian independence, I re-wrote/expanded Indonesian National Revolution. The info is good, but it's arguably a bit clunky in parts. One day i will get the books out again and work on it. --Merbabu (talk) 04:17, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Welcome!
Hi, and welcome to the Aviation WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to aviation.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPAVIATION Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, and project-wide collaboration.
- We have a number of child projects and task forces that focus on specific topics and aircraft types.
- We're developing a variety of guidelines for article structure and content, template use, categorization, and other issues that you may find useful.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the experienced project members, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! -Canglesea (talk) 03:30, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
