Dugald Stewart Walker

Dugald Stewart Walker (1883 — 1937) was an early twentieth century illustrator. He was a native of Richmond, Virginia, and studied in Virginia and at the New York School of Design.[1] Among the books he illustrated were Hans Christian Anderson's fairy tales, Sara Teasdale's Old and New, For Boys and Girls and Padraic Colum's The Boy Who Knew What the Birds Said.[2][3] Walker also did a number of bookplate illustrations.[4]

His work was noted for its fine detail, elaborate stippling, and lavish design.[5][6]
