"Due grosse lacrime bianche" (English translation: "Two Big White Tears") was the Italian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1969, performed in Italian by Iva Zanicchi.
The song is a ballad, with Zanicchi addressing a former lover about her feelings at the end of a relationship. She tells him that, "Two big white tears/Like two pearls from the sea/Is all that you left for me" and also rejects the idea that she would not "die because of love", although she admits to a great sadness.
The song was performed sixth on the night (following Ireland's Muriel Day with The Wages of Love and preceding the United Kingdom's Lulu with Boom Bang-a-Bang). At the close of voting, it had received 5 points, placing 13th in a field of 16.
It was succeeded as Italian representative at the 1970 Contest by Gianni Morandi with "Occhi di ragazza".
