[edit] Page Protected

I requested, on behalf of WikiProject Thomas, that this article be protected (for a period) from anonymous edits. This was due to a large number of edits regarding speculation over Duck's possible appearance in Thomas and Friends - Season 10 and future series. Such statements do not belong in Wikipedia, yet were persistently re-applied.

[edit] NPOV?

I removed the {{NPOV}} tag from this article as the user who added it did not give any reasons here or in the edit summary. Thryduulf 10:47, 12 August 2005 (UTC)

The article might not be an NPOV dispute, but it is unencyclopedic; one reason is that the first paragraph is in the completely wrong tense. SFGiants 15:53, August 14, 2005 (UTC)

I think the article is encyclopaedic, if you think otherwise then the apropriate course of action is to nominate it on Votes for Deletion - see WP:VfD. The paragraph being in the wrong tense does not make it unencylopaedic, it means it needs improving. If you can't fix it yourself then make a note here about what it should be (e.g. should it be past tense or is the problem something else - if so, what?). Thryduulf 22:04, 14 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Season 10

Is Duck coming back in Season 10? Felix 19:16, 10 August 2006

That cannot possibly be confirmed until the season is broadcast. Sorry. Gonzerelli 02:08, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, I doubt that. Felix Cheng 23:54, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

But does he still have a chance to appear in season 10? Ewan4Me 16 Sept 2006

He does, but it's very unlikely he will (see explanation on Duck's page). None of the summaries added to the 'Season 10' page have referred to Duck, Daisy, BoCo, Mavis, Oliver, or any of the other minor characters from The Railway Series that haven't appeared in recent seasons. You'll just have to wait and see whether they appear or not (and only then should Season 10 -related information be added to Wikipedia). Patience, as they say, is a virtue. -- EdJogg 21:41, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

I see so Duck will never return!

*Sighs* I don't know why we even bother explaining stuff sometimes... Gonzerelli 02:12, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

'Will Duck ever come back'

I do hope that Duck can come back. Thomas the Tank engine and friends, just won't be the same without him.CourtneyBonnick 13:08, 23 February 2007 (UTC)C.BCourtneyBonnick 13:08, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

I don't know. Neither do most people. We're not crystal balls. Neither is Wikipedia. Gonzerelli 03:45, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Station pilot - where?

MGD11: I'd like to correct something regarding Duck. His station Piolt duties were of Knapford, not Tidmouth, as can be seen on the station nameboards. Heck, eeven the Overall roof is a dead giveaway, only being used on 2 stations

This is a TV series vs books issue. The main station in the books is Tidmouth, and that is where Duck was station pilot, so the article is correct as it is. However, you do make a valid point; in the TV series 'Tidmouth Station' was called 'Knapford' - see the article for Tidmouth for confirmation of this - so if this article only described Duck in the TV series, yours is a change that would be valid to make.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Duck TTTE 1.jpg

Image:Duck TTTE 1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Confirmed

Has this been confirmed for Duck? but he will appear in Season 12's episode "A Problem for Patrick"? Kazi22

It has been confirmed that he won't, because there's no such episode.HonestTom (talk) 13:10, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
