User:James P. Sullivan had originally screenshotted this image of Ducky specifically for Wikipedia's use. He had the image uploaded under the file name "Image:Dookie.JPG". However, he had either neglected to add a fair use rationale, or he uploaded the image before this policy was established. Because no one bothered to write down a fair use rationale for the image, it was deleted in early October, 2007.

In late January, I, User:Wilhelmina Will, requested that the image be restored so I could fix that problem. I must confess though, I only told half the truth. I wanted it restored so I could save the image to my own hard drive, then upload it to Wikipedia as a new version of this file. Then I would include the missing fair use rationale. I did this because I wanted my file - I don't claim ownership to the images, just motherhood to the file - to survive.

Source	Original screenshot was taken by User: James P. Sullivan. It is unknown if he/she screenshotted it by camera while watching the film on television, or using PowerDVD or something to the extent, while watching it on the computer. As mentioned in the image summary, it was deleted from Wikipedia, but has been reuploaded under a new file name.

Low resolution?	With an image measurement of (352 × 240 pixels, file size: 11 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg), as stated just underneath the image, it is quite safe to declare that this is a low-resolution screenshot. As this is so, it hinders any film copyright pirates in reproducing large quantities of replicas of this image, and redistributing them for profit.
Purpose of use	The image is being used in the English Wikipedia's article: Ducky (The Land Before Time) because it is an article about the Land Before Time character, Ducky. Readers of this article, who may have heretofore known nothing about the Land Before Time or its characters, may want to know what exactly this character looks like, and the text in the article - aside from the description of Ducky being a Parasaurolophus, a link left to the article on this species for further reading, and a description in the article's infobox that she is green with blue eyes - offers very little to go by on this matter. Articles are also considered to be of higher quality, appearance-wise and informatively, if they have at least one image, and if there is an infobox in the article, it is also preferred that the image or one of the images be placed in there. So this image performs three purposes in the article it is being used in: 1. It serves to illustrate the article. 2. It serves to decorate the article's infobox. 3. It allows for visual identification of the character who is the subject of the article.
Replaceable?	As all trademarks, designs, merchandise, characters or icons of the Land Before Time are held under copyright by the owners of the series, this image cannot be replaced, as there is no free alternative. As the show's copyright has not expired, either, the image is also not in the public domain, nor is there a public domain version of this image, available.
Other information	Using this image in Ducky (The Land Before Time) will not limit the copyright holder's abilities to market the character, show, or any merchandise related to either, in any way, as Wikipedia is a non-profit organization and does not steal or deliberatley benefit from other's copyrights. Along with that, this particular image was originally screenshotted by an editor of Wikipedia who - while not likely holding any copyright permissions under the characters of the movie, - still screenshotted this image specifically for Wikipedia to use. While this does not change the copyright status, it still gives the benefit of not having to borrow an image from another website, which might also be copyrighted under the same owners as the show. Therefore, it is easier to avoid violating Wikipedia's policies for borrowing fair use images or media from other websites (who might be committting copyright infringement by containing the image/s). It also assures that this image is not being used for profit gain anywhere else. As a final reassurance of fair use, the image has had a proper, non-free movie license provided, ensuring readers that Wikipedia has dutifully acknowledged that this image is under copyright, and therefore its uses by anyone other than the owners of the copyright, are limited. Thank you.
