Duchamp is a men's fashion accessory retail and wholesale brand, known for its colourful luxury products. Founded in 1988 by Mitchell Jacobs, who with 20 years previous experience working as a creative in the British men's fashion industry, commenced building a uniquely identifiable design ethos for men's accessory products. Focussing on high quality and uncompromising design flair, the company rapidly grew. Joined by his wife Rion in 1994, they together worked as a design team, she concentrating on cufflinks and jewellery and he on textiles for ties, shirts, scarves etc. Twice a year they created new collections which were launched at International fashion trade fairs such as Pitti Uomo and the New York Collective. By early 2000 Duchamp had evolved into one of the worlds leading British men's accessory brands, selling to top stores in the UK, USA, Japan, Europe, Australia, Scandinavia and beyond. These original and luxurious products created by Mitchell and Rion become icons of desirable accessories for men. A small boutique was opened in 1994 in London's fashionable Notting Hill, further accentuating the brands innovative but highly commercial identity. Around that same period, Marc Psarolis joined the company as sales manager and given the fabulous product collections on offer, he rapidly achieved remarkable international wholesale growth. In 2005 Mitchell and Rion decided to sell the company they had created and the following year it was sold to Marc Psarolis backed by the venture capitalist company Arev. This new company is now pursuing a retail expansion; having opened a flagship store in Londons Regent street, a smaller store in the financial district of the City of London and a more recent opening in Jermyn Street. It is believed that further outlets are in the pipeline at Canary Wharf in early 2008 and Westfield in Oct 2008.
