Talk:Dubuque Symphony Orchestra
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I have permission to use the exact content from the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra web site. I am an employee at the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra trying to ad The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra to Wikipedia. Someone please advise me on how to avoid this page being deleted because of copyright infringement. Is this where I need to confirm that the text is available under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License? Do I need to have my Executive Director confirm I have permission to add the same history to Wikipedia? Please advise!! (Knoethe (talk) 18:29, 9 January 2008 (UTC))
Note to Admin: I've notified the user of the procedure for donating material to wikipedia at User talk:Knoethe. -- Whpq (talk) 18:56, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- I've declined the speedy. However, there's no reason to have material like this on for long, unless there's permission; if the procedure isn't followed in a day or two, the page will have to go. Nyttend (talk) 04:50, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
I have listed references to our Web site. I grant Wikipedia permission to use material from The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra site by placing a GNU Free Documentation License statement on the history and youth ensemble web pages. For further reference, contact jgoldsmith@dubuquesymphony.org to confirm Wikipedia has relevant permission. —Preceding (Knoethe (talk) 14:45, 10 January 2008 (UTC)) unsigned comment added by Knoethe (talk • contribs) 14:39, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
I created this page for others to use as a reference and to learn the facts about the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra. You will find it is completely unbiased and only contains neutral facts including the history, the names of those who have been music directors, the two youth ensembles and demographics of our musicians. There are no opinions in this article. Please take the time to read it and verify that this is true. Thanks. (Knoethe (talk) 14:50, 10 January 2008 (UTC))
When will the article no longer have the conflict of interest tag. I emailed you and wrote on the dicussion page that this article is completely unbiased and only contains nuetral facts and information. I received an email back suggesting I add pictures. After this I researched which pictures I can ad and I became confused with the copyright issue again. If I have a picture of our composer, which is his personal picture, who has rights to it? him? None of the categories seem to apply to that type of situation. Please advise. Thanks. (Knoethe (talk) 18:11, 16 January 2008 (UTC))
