Porgy and Bess: Ira Gershwin wrote 'There's a boat dat's leaving soon for New York', and had a major hand in 'It ain't necessarily so', but Heyward wrote most of the other lyrics.

The Good Earth: I deleted the statement that he wrote "the 1934 screen adaptation of Pearl Buck's The Good Earth." Firstly, the film appeared in 1937. Secondly, I can find no evidence that he contributed to the film at all. 81.139.222.13 06:19, 20 August 2005 (UTC)
