Dubravka Zubovic

Dubravka Zubovic is an opera singer born in Zagreb, Yugoslavia (present-day Croatia). At the early age of 16, while still attending high school, she began her voice studies. Within a short period of time she was discovered as a young prodigy, graduating from Zagreb Academy of Music, with a bachelors degree in music. Not long after that, she became a prima donna of a Belgrade Opera in Serbia. Belgrade used to be a capital of ex-Yugoslavia, and there Ms. Zubovic graduated with a MA degree, from Belgrade University. After that, in the period from 1977-1978 she studied in La Scala di Milano, one of the most prestigious opera houses in the world. She has won many prestigious awards from singing competitions including those in Barcelona, Vienna and Ostend. In 1987, she made her Carnegie Hall debut in New York City. She also sang with Pacific Opera in Costa Mesa Performing Art Center.

During her career of 25 years she performed all over the World, from the United States to Australia, including Latin America and many stages in Europe. Her repertory includes opera, Lied, and Oratorio.

She is now retired and lives in California.
