Located within the Dubai International Financial Centre, the Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) is the first energy futures exchange in the Middle East. The aim of the DME is to provide price transparency and market liquidity for petroleum products in the region.
The most important product traded by the DME is the world's first physically delivered Middle East sour crude futures contract, the Oman Crude Oil Futures Contract.
The DME addresses the market need for price discovery of Middle East sour crude oil whilst simultaneously bridging the time zone gap between Europe, Asia and North America.
The DME is a fully electronic exchange which uniquely integrates a community of traders operating from individual trading stations on the exchange floor.
