Dual quads

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dual Quads refers to a set of two 4-barrel carburetors on an intake manifold usually atop a V8 combustion automobile engine. Optional equipment available on certain General Motors, Chrysler and Ford muscle cars of the 50s and 60s. Basic theory of operation was similar to other multiple carburetor setups. Dual Quad assemblies were aimed at increasing air and fuel intake of the motor. Dual Quads are considered a rare and desirable option when a particular automobile was originally equipped with such.
