From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello Dsoubirous, and welcome to Wikipedia! The first thing you should know is that we encourage you to be bold. Feel free to edit and improve articles, by clicking any 'edit' link.

If you'd like to test what Wikipedia can do, check out the sandbox - just type and save the page and your text will appear. That's the beauty of a Wiki.

For more information check out some of the important links below. If you really need help, just type {{helpme}} on your user page. It's that easy!

If you'd like to get involved with current projects, have a look at the Community Portal. There are always tasks for users to do, ranging from copyediting to expanding stubs.

I hope you'll enjoy your time here, but be warned, it can become addictive! Feel free to message me, I'm more than happy to help. As an added tip, sign any message you post so users know that you've said it. To do so is delightfully simple, just use the wikicode ~~~~.

Once again, welcome! Jimbo (not THE Jimbo) 04:07, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

I love to vandalize —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dsoubirous (talkcontribs)

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits are considered vandalism. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. -Patstuart(talk)(contribs) 05:56, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Logo (update).GIF.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo (update).GIF.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 06:07, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] George W. Bush

Welcome, and thank you for experimenting with the page George W. Bush on Wikipedia! Your test worked, and thank you for reverting or removing it yourself. The best way to do tests in the future would be to use the sandbox. You can look at these pages as well: how to edit a page, the tutorial, and how to write a great article. All of these pages are good places to start. Again, thanks, and we hope that you will like Wikipedia. AuburnPilotTalk 06:13, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, as you did to George W. Bush, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. -Patstuart(talk)(contribs) 15:58, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image tagging for Image:Summit_Logo.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Summit_Logo.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is your last warning.
The next time you vandalize a page, as you did to Summit Preparatory Charter High School, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Duane 06:45, 10 December 2006 (UTC) (last warning)

Why are you giving yourself a warning? Did you do something we should block you for? -Patstuarttalk|edits 06:48, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Summit Logo.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Summit Logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:21, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
