I am a professional journalist, and occasionally a professor. I was born in Royal Oak, Michigan, just outside Detroit, but currently live on the Chaoyang-Chongwen border in Beijing, China.
In my free time, I develop in PHP, especially using the PHP-GTK and GD libraries, and formerly translated video games. My more notable free works are translations of Langrisser I, Der Langrisser, Hydlide, The Crest of Gaia and Kid Niki 2, the NINJA patching format and WineLocale.
I am an Xubuntu Linux user and have an interest in Unicode and internationalization.
