[edit] The operation principle

The program product uses the protocols BOOTP, DHCP for installing server auto loading, as well as the SNMP protocol for the remote reset. Server administrator specifies mac-address, the remote reset address and port number, and restart the installing server. Then DSmanager installs to the server through the net. Operating Systems Supported by DSmanager are FreeBSD, Red Hat, Fedora, Debian, CentOS, Gentoo, SUSE. User can also create the system image for its further installation.

[edit] Operating systems support

  • DSmanager supports any operating system of the Unix-family.

[edit] DSmanager advantages

  • All dedicated servers are stored in a single base and can be easily managed through web-interface. All the operations like operating systems installation, reboot, switching ON and OFF of a machine can be performed via the control panel.
  • Three login levels – Admin, Reseller, User - with each level having its appropriate roles and responsibilities.

[edit] DSmanager disadvantages

  • The control panel works in a single ethernet segment or VLAN.
  • Installing servers must support network launching.
