[edit] "Nice to meet you"
Though I was born in Seville, Spain, I have spent most of adult life in Lincolnshire (first in Lincoln, now in Hibaldstow). I love the place (once you get over the fact you need a car for everything, as public transport is almost non-existent). Regarding the photos, I need confirmation on the name of the White Horse shelter. I have checked everywhere but I cannot find what its proper name is. Hopefully someone will come around and correct it, if wrong. I am constantly uploading images (see User:Asterion/Image Gallery), some of which do not have a corresponding article, if you want to help out with the red links. Best regards, E Asterion u talking to me? 12:01, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
- The answer to your White Horse shelter lies within the conservation document you linked from the Redbourne page which says on page 13:
- "Another prominent building facing the Green is the Old Smithy at the northeast corner. This unusual temple type structure has an open timber columned portico surmounted by a pediment. The rearing horse on the roof and the brick paving on the floor are clues to its more humble purpose. The interior still houses the hearths, flues and troughs used in the shoeing process and a seating area have been added."
- So your answer is "The Old Smithy".
- Must say I have seen it countless times when passing through the village but never thought to ask what it was!

- Great! Thank you very much. I will try to get some decent pictures at some stage (for the Red Lion too), those I uploaded were taken with my mobile phone camera and the quality is not very good. I will amend the description. E Asterion u talking to me? 13:23, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Willoughton
Re. Methodist Church: Is it the one on the way out of the village towards Middle Street/North Cliff Road (B1398)? If that is so, it has been converted into residential property. A work colleague of mine used to live in one of the flats. E Asterion u talking to me? 21:49, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
- Not sure, I rarely passed through Willoughton. But there is a photo of it at http://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/section.asp?catId=7969 My great grandfather lived there for many years and were active members of the Primitive Methodist. I have their family bible with loads of newspaper cuttings of it until the 1930's but couldn't find when it closed. I see there was a Weslyan chapel there as well.Dsergeant 10:58, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, that's the same one. I drive past it almost everyday on my way to work, so I had the chance to take a picture today. You've done a great job with the stub. I just added the photo to the article. Thanks a lot. E Asterion u talking to me? 22:58, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Vintage amateur radio
Your edit to the article brings up a good point. It needs to reflect activity in the non-USA as well. I know the Japanese and others collect Collins and other USA boatanchors so, is it safe to say ALL boatanchors are US-made? Are there any UK companies that made boatanchors which are collected? Is there substantial glowbug, AM, or boatanchor activity in EU? How can we represent this aspect? If you have any ideas on this, please feel free to contribute. LuckyLouie 18:49, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. I think the term 'boatanchor' is a mainly US one and not used over here... But there are a number of organisations interested in preserving and using vintage stuff. Have a look at http://www.vmars.org.uk/ for starters. I am not actually involved in it myself (just came across your article by accident while sorting out some other amateur and radio articles) so guess I can't add that much myself. But it would be good to make it more international, we certainly don't use those frequencies on 80m over here! 73 Dave G3YMC Dsergeant 20:55, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the link. Can you tell me if there is a "ham slang" term for boatanchors (big, heavy old radio gear) that is used in the UK or EU? LuckyLouie 22:28, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
- If there is I am not aware of one! Glowbug is another of those words which seems not to be used outside your shores. There again we have valves and not tubes...Dsergeant 15:17, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] QRP
Thanks! I am not at all familiar with UK and EU amateur radio clubs, contests, communities, etc. Any material you can add is appreciated. 73. -- LuckyLouie 06:09, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, that edit was done very quickly. As an avid entrant in QRP contests from this side of the pond I will try and improve it (as well as the rest of this article). 73 Dave G3YMC Dsergeant 07:27, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Notepad+
I have removed the speedy deletion templates from the article, because it is not written like an ad at all. Cheers! Evilclown93 15:49, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
- Many thanks! Will see if the chap who added it comes back... Dsergeant 17:03, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Mailwasher
Sorry, just noticed your message to me just now. I added a bit more to the article but I'm not sure whether it will help towards meeting WP notability criteria. Seems you may have more experience with the WP guidelines. Please advise what sort of info would help. --Ikester 05:17, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
P.S. since I don't track changes here very often, it might be quicker to get me at the CC MWP forum and/or my CC wiki talk page. --Ikester 05:17, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Notepad+, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy).
