[edit] History
When the first strech of railway in Denmark was electrified, DSB needed an electric locomotive that could be used as a combined freight/passenger unit. The choice fell on the EA and the first two was delivered by Henschel in Germany - however, the rest of the units were delivered from Scandia.
In 1999, DSB Gods (DSB Cargo) went bankrupt and ten of the EA locos were transferred to Railion who were to overtake DSB Gods' former activities. Railions locomotives are often used, hauling heavy freight-trains on the electrified stretches. However, DSB's own locos are only used on very few rush-our trains, and a lot of them has been sold to Bulgaria.
