Image:Starhalf.png The Half Barnstar
I give you this Half Barnstar because when we are at cross purposes, we are apparently sock puppets and vandals, but when we work together like we did in Lassen, we can contribute so much. Stephen C. Sillett 00:38, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] My talk page

I have responded to your comments on my talk page. Kurt Weber 18:34, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Dr. Varkey, my intention was not to vandalize. I am a biology student at HSU, and I am fully aware of the reputations of many of the biology/botany professors who teach there (although I learn more every day). It took a bit of time to find instructions for posting a message, as I have never edited an article here. The reason I edited the sentence is because your citation did not support what you were saying (He only takes female students climbing???? I know you don't believe that--there are several male students who have accompanied him on climbs). As for the claim on veracity, you are more tapped into the scientific community than I am--so there is not much I can say. You know that proper citation is important in scientific writing--and I would be willing to bet that if I make an unsupported claim on one of your long essay tests when I have you for genetics Fall semester I wouldn't get away with it. I mean no disrespect, Dr.Varkey, and I will not revise your article again. Taboo. No more. Wormslime

[edit] Widespread vandalism

Have you ever read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest? You have created an article on yourself, added yourself to other pages, and are promoting your own views and attacking those of others, as reflected by Wormslime's comment up above. Read Essjay controversy: you can't prove that you're really this professor, and even if you could you don't have the right to disrupt Wikipedia as you have been doing. Please stop now: any more vandalism and personal attacks as you've done, especially to Dr Sillett's article, will be noticed. You may be able to bully your student away from following Wikipedia's policy, but you won't be able to bully others. Nyttend 13:51, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] User page

Please read Wikipedia:User page. As it says there, "libelling people on userpages is a bad idea, and in fact, using userpages to attack people or campaign for or against anything or anyone is a bad idea." I don't think it's appropriate, by that standard, to be listing Stephen Sillett under your "bad things". Nyttend 14:37, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Final warning

This is your last warning.
The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to User:DrVarkey, you will be blocked from editing. Removing a notice about being suspected as a sock puppet will only make your case worse. Nyttend 12:48, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sock puppetry

I don't generally deal with suspected sock puppetry cases, so all I can do is to refer you to two pages: Wikipedia:Sock puppetry/Notes for the suspect and Wikipedia:Sock puppetry. Nyttend 12:55, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
