Drug action teams (DAT) are a UK based, government sponsored initiative, often part of a major government plan, to provide drug and alcohol related treatment services at a local level. Various factors such as population size and the severity of drug and alcohol related issues define the area of responsibility for a single DAT. Typically each DAT focuses on a county sized area.
