Drover

A drover is a person who takes livestock "on the hoof" over long distances, see droving and Drover (Australian). Drover can also refer to:

"Drover" is also used in reference to a type of dog. A drover dog is similar to a herding dog. While herding dogs are used primarily to keep a herd together and/or moved from field to field, drovers are used to "drive" the herd to market and protect them. One example of a dog used for this purpose is the Rottweiler.
