[edit] G'day!
I know you've been around a while but, hey, better late than never, right?
G'day there, Drmoores, and welcome to Wikipedia! Good authors are always welcome on the project, and I hope you like the place and decide to stick around!
We've got a few pages you might find helpful, such as:
It's all best summed up here: write from a neutral point of view, play nice with others, and don't let the rules get you down.
If you have any questions or need any help, my talkpage is always open for business, or you can see Wikipedia:Newcomers help page. Here's a tip to start you off: if you type four tildes (~~~~
) at the end of any messages you leave on talkpages (like this one) Wikipedia will automatically insert your name and the current date and time after your message. Cool, eh? Happy editing! fuddlemark (fuddle me!) 02:13, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Airads Magazine Feature.pdf
Thanks for uploading Image:Airads Magazine Feature.pdf. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Please do not use Wikipedia to promote yourself
Hi Simon. I've just removed your link from the eGovernment article. When you edit on Wikipedia you are volunteering for Wikipedia. Your purpose here needs to be first and foremost to produce a good, open content encyclopedia. If your only purpose in editing is to promote yourself, your edits are not welcome. Please read our conflict of interest and editing with a conflict of interest guidelines for pointers on how to deal with situations where your expertise would lead you to make edits that are also of benefit to yourself. --Siobhan Hansa 14:53, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ramsgate image fun and games
We start with a link to the image of the harbour: Image:RamsgateHarbour2.jpg
I know the feeling of wikifrustration, they've just tagged the Townley House photo too (I guess it's coming to light that I pilfered most of your photo collection for Wikipedia ;) ) Image:TownleyHouse.jpg
Anyway, I don't have the time for messing around with them either. I've stated that we are chatting about it but they should give some advice. I presume its going to be something like, must be copyleft/ GFDL / creative commons with commercial use and derivatives allowed.
Here is their FAQ, though it seems contradictory to the issues raised now Wikipedia:Copyright_FAQ
Well, I'll post this to your wikitalk page (only just realised you had one) and get back to you there if anything else happens. Hows that sound? KevinCarmody (talk) 07:34, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- Update on the images. Townley House has been removed. So far as Ramsgate is concerned the problems are associated with cc-non commercial, see this entry - KevinCarmody (talk) 13:36, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
