[edit] Soundtrack

Does anyone have the soundtrack listing ? . I just got the game and the soundtrack rocks !!!!. i love 70's rock !! andrewkeith80 03:35, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

I think it's in the game booklet. -albrozdude 05:01, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] All this new info

The huge, probably verifiable but not encyclopedia-appropriate, list of info needs to be dealt with. Most of it is speculative or already discussed in the article proper, so I'd suggest removing most of the list and maybe incorporating other bits into the rest of the article. (I might do this if no one else does) -Albrozdude 23:37, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

Nevermind, I did it...Albrozdude 03:57, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

Please, numerous anonymous editors, stop adding copy-and-pasted text from unsourced websites to this article. If you want to add info, integrate it into the text that already exists and be sure to cite your references. Thank you! -albrozdude 19:16, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 2006 shotgun

Anybody know what real-life shotgun the 2006 shotgun in the game is supposed to be? It looks kinda like a USAS-12, but I'm not sure... -albrozdude 23:57, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

Perhaps the shotgun is fully upgraded, well, at least, in theory. Best Gamer 24 July 2006

[edit] Some Criticisms

Don't you think that the game still lacks melee weapons and hand-to-hand combats? I think so. Best Gamer 25 July 2006

You can perform melee attacks on people by pressing the fire button when standing close to them. This includes punching. Other characters do the same when they are close to you. -albrozdude 18:28, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

But still, the game has no hand-to-hand combats and other meleé weapons such as baseball bat, meat cleaver, etc. Also, it has lacking of radio stations, Albrozdude. Oh and not to forget the lacking weather conditions there, man. Best Gamer 24 July 2006

They couldn't copy that blatantly from GTA. Being as "driving" is the main focus of the game, it's surprising they included the number of firearms and even the ability to melee that they did. The music plays in-car as if it were on a radio station. Just because it isn't Grand Theft Auto style (hell the game has been criticised enough about being too much like GTA) doesn't mean it's bad. But the lack of weather is strange.-albrozdude 21:04, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Oh, and another thing, albrozdude. I saw a strange green cloud mysteriously appeared out of nowhere (which appeared on night time). This somewhat is part of the glitch. I followed it, but then mysteriously dissapeard. That I have encountered this mystrious glitch. The close combat attack takes a few times just to kill it. But for the glitch, this is how I have encountered it. Best Gamer 24 July 2006

I found that rival cars that during circuit race, the opponents car won't roll over, albrozdude. Opponents car should'nt land on 4 wheels. Best Gamer 25 July 2006

[edit] Cars

The game shows a value of 76 cars and how many you alredy have in the Stass menu... I find on some forums that there are in thruth over 80 driveable vehicles... But even if there are only 76, there are only 61 listed in this article (considering the both San Marrinos, and both Prison Van an Bus) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 201.56.56.96 (talk • contribs) 22:33, 24 June 2006 (UTC).

Well feel free to add any that you find missing. I suppose in the next day or so I could fire up my copy of the game again to find which cars are missing. If you have any sources for your claims of 80+ cars, you could add that info in. -albrozdude 05:12, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
I used the 'all vehicles' cheat to see all cars. There are only lots of versions of the original cars (Cerva Punk, Bonsai Racer, Torrex Turbo) plus a "Pimp Ride", the one from Kill Slink mission, is it a modified alredy in the list SUV or another vehicle? Same guy from above 01:28, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
I'll add a note to the vehicles section about the "special" versions of the cars. If you notice any "normal" vehicles missing though, feel free to add them. -albrozdude 07:15, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Mexican story

"He is first seen with his previous driver locked in the trunk of his car." is a little wrong, since he states that was only a joke to scare the kid. Althrough someone was in the trunk, nothing (but the joke) points to be the previous driver. 201.56.56.96 01:38, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

I fixed that bit. -albrozdude 02:54, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

He states that it was HIS previous driver. tanner didn't work for the Mexican therefor it cannot be him. just putting that out there —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.50.16.13 (talk) 02:24, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

You see the real person who was mentioned to be in the truck, later on in the game. So he wasn't referring to Tanner in anyways. --Driver Madness 09:19, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Cheats

I decided to remove cheats as with the latest edition of the article, I felt that the previously somewhat incospicuous section was getting out of hand. I have moved the cheats to StrategyWiki. Do not add cheats or strategy to this article; go to StrategyWiki to add such info. Thanks. -albrozdude 02:54, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

No cheats for this game exsist on StrategyWiki Driver Madness 12:39, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Strange Car Name

Meat Wagon? I thought the car name is supposed to be Ambulance, but that weird name started to make me laugh. Best Gamer 25 July 2006

Yes, that is the correct name. "Meat Wagon" is a slang term for "ambulance".-albrozdude 17:22, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

If you listen to police officers talking at a crime scene you might hear one of them say "Meat Wagon on the Way?"--[jonrev] 01:14, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Strange Glitch

Albrozdude, I found something familiar about these vehicles. When I turned back which the vehicle was Fairview, and when I turned back, it morphed into Atlus! Best Gamer 26 July 2006

The game offers a bunch of glitchs but with my experience I feel that something like this is not possible. If your talking about a car you where driving, otherwise it is possible. However the DPL engign should only accept it under strain [which is very unlikely]. Driver Madness 12:36, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Once again, removed criticisms section

Inserting one's personal opinion under a banner of "Criticisms" and using weasel words like "most gamers think..." is a violation of Wikipedia NPOV policy. Please do not do this. In fact, the lead of the "Overview" subsection details some common complaints leveled by published videogame reviewers who, per Wikipedia policy about sources, are the only opinions that matter. Thank you. -albrozdude 03:11, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] This should have Multiplayer!

The Driver series has rocked and they upgraded this game alot but c'mon no multiplayer?

The game was going to have multiplayer in the xbox and ps2 version. They took it out because they wanted to keep the game focused on single player mode.

They were going to take another shot at it on the pc version and once again removed it for an unknown reason. Driver Madness 11:54, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 2006 vehicles under attack by anonymous user

This is'nt absolutely right. This anonymous user (known as 67.86.134.42) keeps changing vehicles. The Indiana car resembles the Lexus RX300, not Chrysler Pacifica, because Indiana's headlights are triangular as the Lexus RX300, and the tailights are not like the Pacifica. It's the RX300. The Torrex keeps changing from Chevy Impala to Ford Crown Victoria. This anonymous user is very wrong, as the Torrex's tailights are not like the Ford, it's the Chevrolet Impala. And the Torrex's grille from the front bumper is not as the Ford Crown Victoria, because the grille from the Torrex is not big. The headlights and the bumpers are like the Chevrolet Impala, and not the Ford Crown Victoria. Professional Gamer 17:03, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Here are pictures of the Torrex and Indiana for reference. Wangry 06:07, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
This is irrelevant now as I've removed the vehicle list as it doesn't conform to Wikipedia policy. Please don't insert any more vehicle lists here. Thank you. -albrozdude 04:05, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Indiana and Torrex controversies

This is a controversal topic in Driver: Parallel Lines. Some say the Indiana is a Lexus RX300. It really isn't. It looks more like a Pacifica than an RX300 because of its sides (for the most part). Some say the Torrex is a Chevy Impala. It really isn't. The Impalas have round taillights, not square taillights. The Torrex is more Crown Victoria than Impala. The Torrex has the sides and back of a Crown Victoria and the front of a 1995 Mazda 626 (possibly). This should be pretty obvious. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.86.134.42 (talkcontribs)

[edit] I have cleaned up the article

I cleaned up the article some time ago but various anons and others somehow screwed it up again, so I've simply reverted to my original version after determining that doing so would not compromise any relevant information. Please do not reinsert vehicle lists, soundtrack lists, or any such 'lists'. Thank you. -albrozdude 22:56, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] wtc

should it be noted that this is the first post-911 game to feature the twin towers? 203.129.44.186 02:58, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

If there is a way to cite that then yes, it could be included. -albrozdude 18:12, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

this site shows evidence that the wtc is included in the game. In an image format.

According to what I have learn't Wikipedia prefers you don't link to such a page, since it's more of a question and you have to scroll down to find the images. A proper driver wiki is coming soon and should contain lots of information about the WTC involved in the game which would be better to Cite that. Driver Madness 12:33, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Felony System

I just thought I would point out that the felony system isn't new- Driver 3 had the same system, but it was less noticable in that if you were only chased in car, and got out when the police couldn't see your felony went, but if you were seen out of car, it didnt- like in Parallel lines. It seems they just made this system more obvious in PL...

Yeah that seems pretty correct. However there were a few improvements to the system. Driver Madness 12:15, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] wtf is this

did some company exec write this bullshit? i mean come on here, lets get a real article written and not some advertisement crap. im gonna keep deleting the bs until then

What are you not liked written on the article page. Driver Madness 11:51, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

i'm gonna help you

yeh madness some of the people here are really annyoing i'm gonna help you deleting this shit :P http://www.driver-4.com 16:09, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

But first we need to find the big problems --Driver Madness 05:14, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Driver Madness

I have added a link to a different page which kindly redirects users to a place of their choice, so they can quickly find downloads, use the forums and read the lastest news on the series. Please comment on the new changes on the wikipedia (in) page on Driver Madness. -Driver Madness 12:02, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Plot/Storyline

Plot section is excessively long, should be ideally no more than 700 words, but is it even necesary when there is a perfectly good summary under "Story"? 62.25.106.209 (talk) 10:32, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
