The Driver Of the Year Award is a racing award founded in 1967 by Martini & Rossi. Today it is privately owned and the voting panel consists of the top automotive and racing journalists in the US. Mario Andretti won the first award in 1967. The 2007 winner is Jimmie Johnson. Johnson won the 2007 award in a highly unusual unanimous vote.
In December 2007, a Facebook fan group was dedicated to this award, and award web site.
