DriverAgent is a driver sniffer software published originally by Touchstone Software. Driver Agent's software scans a user's computer and locates updates to the device drivers stored on that user's computer. This scan is free. The company also offers a membership option, which provides users with links to download the appropriate driver files. Driver Agent functions much like Version Tracker in that it does not store the files on its servers, but instead links to external sites (usually the hardware vendor site) for the files. However, Driver Agent is distinguished from Version Tracker in that it suggests and links to device driver updates, while Version Tracker suggests and links primarily to software updates.
Driver Agent competes against similar products such as PC Pitstop, RadarSync, DriversHQ, and others.
On April 10, 2008, Driver Agent announced that it would be acquired by Phoenix Technologies, Ltd.[1]
