[edit] Format and authenticity

Hosted by Richard Garner, with co-hosts Cam Stewart and Sarah Meehan with appearances from Gabriel Morency,[2] Drive This! is known as "the first ever truly authentic sports talk radio show". A unique and one of a kind sports radio talk show, Drive This! is truly for the hardcore sports fans. The most interesting, bizarre, hilarious, hot button issues from the world of sports are discussed in a completely uncensored, thought provoking and genuinely passionate manner unlike any other sports radio show.[3] On Television however, most of the profanity is bleeped. The 2 hour program consists of 4 segments:

Segment 1: 4:00 p.m. - 4:26 p.m. ET (approx.)

Segment 2: 4:33 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. ET (approx.)

Segment 3: 5:06 p.m. - 5:31 p.m. ET (approx.)

Segment 4: 5:36 p.m. - 5:56 p.m. ET (approx.)

Part of the show consists of callers, usually regulars voicing their opinions on the topics being discussed on the show or simply commenting on the show itself. E-mails sent in by listeners are also often read on the program, espiecially those who tend to criticize the hosts or the program. This is most usually done on the 3rd segment.

On Fridays, Sarah Meehan surprises her co-hosts with a special guest and interesting story which reminds us why we love sports so much. This segment is entitled "Storytime with Sarah".

[edit] Criticism and praise

The show has been criticised most frequently because of its use of foul language and obscenities on the air. Another minor problem which arises out of the particular style of the show is that many guests will refuse to come on the show, because they are afraid they might be asked certain things which they are not comfortable talking sincerely about. Because it is uncensored and it takes itself seriously, many sports stars or controversial figures will refrain from coming on the show.

However, many hardcore sports fans praise the show for its unique style which will stop at nothing and its respectful treatment of fans unlike other sports radio talk shows, truly making it the prime sports radio talk show for truly hardcore fans.
