Drifter (chocolate)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Drifter is a chocolate coated bar launched by Nestlé in 1980, consisting of a crisp wafer with chewy caramel.

Amongst its advertising slogans, it has been referred to as "the chewy chocolate bar that you really have to get your teeth into."

As of 2008, the bar is getting increasingly hard to find in most parts of the United Kingdom. The reason behind this is 'a fault in the manufacturing process' according to Nestle. It is said that Nestle are redesigning the Drifter due to its high content of 'transfats'.

On the 23rd May 2008 the Metro Newspaper reported that Drifters would be brought back in to circulation within a week in a similar act of nostaglia as enjoyed by the Cadburys Wispa.

Also in Retail Newsagent magazine there is a full page advert saying "It's Back!" dated 30 May 2008.
