[edit] AMA request
Hello Dreyesbo, I'm Steve Caruso from the Association of Members' Advocates. I'm sorry to hear about your problems with link erasure. I'm here to tell you that we've recieved your request, and that I am currently working on providing you with a suitable Advocate who will help you further with the dispute resolution process. You should be hearing from us soon. In the meanwhile, it would be helpful for you to write out a detailed explaination of your problems here so that when an Advocate is found, they will be better able to assist you. Peace! אמר Steve Caruso (desk/poll) 19:42, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- Hey -- I'm your advocate. Just so you know, I consider my role here advisory: I'm not going to join the debate on your side, that's not what advocacy is for. However, I'm not going to join the debate on the other side either. In this case, I see that you added some foreign-language fansite links to Tibia (computer game), and those were later removed by User:C3o, who used the summary "removed foreign language link". (You can see the history of edits in any page by clicking on the history tab at the top of the screen.) Looking through your contributions, I can't find any attempt to communicate about this; did you email C3o? If so, keep in mind that some people provide an email address they don't check very much, so it may not be so reliable. But you don't need to use email to communicate on wikipedia. If you want to communicate with a particular user, you can leave a message on their talk page; C3o's is at User talk:C3o. If you want to discuss an article, you can use the article's talk page. When you're browsing a page, you can click on the "discussion" tab near the top of the screen to get to the related talk page. Keep in mind, though, that you can just add the links C3o removed back into the article. Perhaps you could add them differently, or with a note explaining what language each is in, et cetera.
- There's a wikipedia policy C3o is following, though, that you should know about: Wikipedia:External links. One of the types of "links normally to be avoided" are links to foreign language sites. This is because, generally speaking, we try to include just a few links, but make those links as useful as possible. Another part of that policy says that "On articles about topics with many fansites, including a link to one major fansite is appropriate, marking the link as such," which implies that multiple fansites should not be listed. Still, if certain fansites are officially endorsed by the game maker, it seems reasonable to me to mention them in the body of the article, if not in the external links section. Okay, that's a lot of stuff for now. If you have any questions, leave me a message at my talk page, or drop me an email. Mangojuicetalk 20:14, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Ffa.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Ffa.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ~ BigrTex 20:46, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair Use image on User page
I have removed the image (Image:Logo de tibia.PNG) from User:Dreyesbo/Userboxes/Tibia. Wikipedia policy prohibits the use of Fair Use on user pages and in templates. ~ BigrTex 16:06, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
