Can you drill it into this user that a two bit backing group of 8 year olds is not going to get its own page? Thanks. Kaeso Dio (talk) 22:04, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I'd be wary of wording it like that, but I did prod the page, and that was endorsed by another user, so it looks like the page will be deleted. Remember not to WP:BITE the newbies though. :) --Dreaded Walrus t c 22:53, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Me again :). I removed the line what Gnevin has rv. here. It is an unofficial website so I thought that well, unofficial is not endorsed. Right or wrong? Kaeso Dio (talk) 18:31, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
-
- Right. Firstly, apologies in taking so long to reply. Of course, there is no obligation for anyone to reply to every message left on their talk page, though I usually do try. In this case, I felt I was largely indifferent to the changes, but I shall offer my opinion anyway.
- We don't have a blanket ban on unofficial sites. When deciding if a site is suitable to be linked, this is generally quite helpful, as it shows the kind of things we look for in external links. Likewise, Links normally to be avoided helps determine what we're specifically not looking for. So, according to our external links policy (Links normally to be avoided, point 11), the second site (the one removed in the diff you linked to) probably isn't what we're looking for. The first of the sites, GAA Unplugged ("Greatest GAA site with news, views, fun and chat..."), strikes me as particularly spam-like, though I'm rather undecided on the content of the site itself. So basically, yes, I say you should delete the link that Gnevin reinstated, linking to WP:EL in your edit summary.
- And please, in future, do not delete comments from my talk page. It would be borderline acceptable if I had not responded at all, but as in this case a conversation had taken place, so I prefer to archive my talk page. And as for taking longer than 20 minutes to respond after I reinstated our comments, again I apologise for taking a while, but other more important things cropped up, and I had to take care of them first and foremost. Hope I could help in the end. --Dreaded Walrus t c 09:02, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- Brilliant. Thankyou. So I link to WP:EL. Thankyou. Kaeso Dio (talk) 09:39, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- No probs. Apologies once more for the delay. --Dreaded Walrus t c 10:27, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for sorting that out. Kaeso Dio (talk) 11:36, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Menudo (band)
Thank you for your help with this! When several sensible Wikipedians show up to help, that's when these kinds of problems get solved in short order. Cheers and have a great weekend, Antandrus (talk) 02:24, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

- (in response to Antandrus) Yeah, I had kept your talk page on my watchlist since our last discussion (after you reverted the vandalism to my userpage earlier this month), and became aware of the situation via this, and just assumed it was another regular "OMG SUE YOU" kind of thing without much basis, but after looking into things, it appeared (to me at least) that he had a good point. Tried to explain stuff to him, as he's obviously new, and we all need help when we're new, and carried out a couple of minor edits. Hopefully this will all be resolved peacefully. And thanks for the weekend wishes. :) --Dreaded Walrus t c 03:34, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

FanSite Tag
I read what you wrote and get your point. I'm going to take a break then try to clean some of that stuff up. Should straight to the point on certain issues. If you see any thing else you would think should be adjusted to be less fansiteish please post on my talk page. Thanks for the help.SteveRev (talk) 00:58, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- No probs. Apologies if it's gotten a bit stressful. :) --Dreaded Walrus t c 01:07, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
De Anza case article at AfD
Hello. This is a courtesy notice that I have nominated for deletion an article you have created or edited, 2007 De Anza baseball players rape case. The deletion discussion may be found here. Thanks, Wikidemo (talk) 11:25, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for the notification, I've offered my input. --Dreaded Walrus t c 11:57, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Autoblock
Actually, I hard-blocked him and the logs indicate that he got caught in the autoblock when he tried to edit as an IP. Autoblock is a harsh mistress. Acroterion (talk) 03:29, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
- Oops, yes. I wasn't thinking straight, it's 3:39am over here... Thanks for that. --Dreaded Walrus t c 03:39, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

McGriddles
I reverted it and filled it in. - Jeremy (Jerem43 (talk) 06:46, 17 December 2007 (UTC))
- Oops! Yes, my mistake, most of the fields have been filled now. Thanks for correcting me on that. :) --Dreaded Walrus t c 06:48, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
For the cleanup - blacklisted, cheers --Herby talk thyme 14:23, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
- No probs. It had been bothering me for a while, but I'd forgotten about the local blacklist, and couldn't be bothered going through the thing at meta again. I'm currently doing a search of the top 57 wikis, we'll see how that goes. --Dreaded Walrus t c 14:27, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
- Checking it out as I type but not much time myself. Maybe others will get to it but if not you will find some friendly folk at meta :) Thanks again - good call. --Herby talk thyme 14:51, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
Poikpoik
Thanks for warning them, but just so you know, I have blocked that account. :) They were a sock of some vandal who keeps putting my name over pages that I've recently edited. Thanks for the help. Acalamari 18:07, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I tend to do everything manually, so I'm often a bit slow when it comes to these things, when compared to the TWINKLE users. I think his MO pretty much gave it away that he wasn't a new user or anything. I take it he's using a dynamic IP of some sort? --Dreaded Walrus t c 18:13, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know what he uses for an IP; it could be dynamic or stale. Even so, his previous account was blocked over a week ago, so that's more than enough time for the autoblock and account creation block on his IP(s) to wear off. Thanks again. Acalamari 22:01, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
deviantART
Hey Dreaded Walrus, I saw that you were one of the people who mostly contributed to the deviantART article. I'm trying to revamp the article and make it really good, then nominate it for a good article. If you're interested, you can help contribute. Thanks!! --Dan LeveilleTALK 00:28, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hi. I've seen your work on the article over the past few days - you've been doing a good job. Unfortunately, improving articles in a major way is not really one of my specialities, and I tend to just watch articles for vandalism and the like, and make minor changes. I'll keep the article on my watchlist, of course, but unfortunately I'm not really that good at improving articles directly. --Dreaded Walrus t c 13:58, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

- Alright, no problem :) --Dan LeveilleTALK 20:09, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Happy Holidays
Thanks!
[1] - for warning this character! I don't even like Star Trek :-| Hehe! Cheers buddy, I owe you one. ScarianCall me Pat 19:31, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
Oh fudge
You're right, I warned the wrong IP address. It wasn't a mistake in Twinkle, I just clicked the wrong link. I guess it's a bit late now to warn the correct account. Thanks for the heads up. --Closedmouth (talk) 12:34, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
Bitter Halo
Just a friendly heads up on Bitter Halo. You tagged the article with {{db-music}}, but that is for musical groups, not albums. Since it's not eligible for speedy deletion, I removed the speedy, but prodded it instead. --Fabrictramp (talk) 17:37, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yep, no problem. I think the fact that the band who made the album is a salted page kind of gives it away, really, but he's now removed the prod. Do you want to take it to AfD, or shall I? --Dreaded Walrus t c 17:43, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

- AfD is started. :)--Fabrictramp (talk) 19:14, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
