Hello there, my full name is Andrew Alexander Clarke. I was born in Wolverhampton on Wednesday the 27th of December in 1978.

Work Life

I am an executive director of a company called MWS Ltd, we manufacturer weighing scales for use in the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industry. We manufacture standard and bespoke weighing systems. We also run a calibration, repair and service business which is called Betterweigh.

We also operate two ecommerce stores supplying weighing scales and laboratory balances. These are called Scalesmart and Labsmart.

We operated from a 5000sq ft factory based in the heart of leicester.

I have been working for MWS Ltd for almost 10 years. The industry has changed vastly since i started in 1997. The emphasis on low cost products has overtaken the necessity for quality. Food manufacturers are under immense pressure from supermarket chains to drive the costs down despite their massive profits. The investment in capital equipment and maintenance has been hit as food manufacturers strive to reign in costs.

Scalesmart is one of a number of weighing companies that feature heavily online. Set up to deal direct with end users the online shop allows weighing scales to be purchased online at discounted prices.

Home Life

I currently live in Leicester with my girlfriend of 8 years. The house we live in was recently renovated by myself over the space of 2 years. We plan to buy another house this year, hopefully in a village outside of Leicester
