"Island of Dreams," an artificial island created by sanitation landfill (garbage and sand in alternating layers) was treated extensively in a book on pollution and environmental issues in Japan, published in the late 60s in Tokyo by a now-defunct press. Titled "Island of Dreams," it was written by Michael Reich and Nori Huddle, who travelled extensively in Japan gathering firsthand material for the book.Trapani 22:03, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
