Drew Rokos is considered by many[who?] to be one of the fasted rising comedians in the country. His somewhat dry and laconic style of humour tackles everyday life observations, preferring to identify some of the more ridiculous aspects of social behaviour. Some of his stories relating to childhood experiences, will hopefully bring a tear to your eye!!
Drew was the Winner of 2000 Melbourne International Comedy Festival's RAW COMEDY competition. This is a competition held once a year, out of approximately 500 comedians, to find the best new comedian in Australia. The final was held in front of approximately 1,500 people at The Melbourne Town Hall and telecast on ABC TV.
Winner of the 2000, Channel 4 and Edinburgh Comedy Festival's "So you think You’re Funny?" competition. This is also held once a year during the Edinburgh Festival to find the best new comedian in the United Kingdom. He is the only Australian to have ever made the final, let alone won it.
Drew has appeared on radio with Richard Stubbs on TTFM, Adam Spencer and Wil Anderson on the Triple J Breakfast show, Vicki Kerrigan on the Triple J Morning Show and 3LO Drive time with Glen Bartholomew.
Drew has appeared on the ABC's 7.30 Report, featuring his one man show, "Drew Rokos Conquers the World", which he performed at the 2001 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. He featured in the 2001 sell out country tour of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow.
Drew has appeared on Foxtel’s The Comedy Channel, as a headline act, during the 2001 series of "Headliners".
Drew is a regular performer at The Comics Lounge, Club Odeon at Crown Casino, the Esplanade Hotel (The Espy), the Comedy Club (Melb), The Commercial Lounge, the Annandale Hotel, the Palace Hotel as well as various private and corporate functions.
Drew has performed with Richard Stubbs, Dave Hughes, Dave Grant, Greg Fleet, Peter Helliar, David Callan, Pommy Johnson, Dave O'Neil, Chris Franklin, Brad Oakes, Chris Bennet, Darren Casey and Lawrence Mooney to name a few.
