Dream Street (film)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dream Street is a movie made in 1921 by D.W. Griffith. It starred Carol Dempster and Charles Emmett Mack in a story about a love-triangle set in London. The film was poorly received in its day and critics still consider it one of Griffith's worst films. It is notable for a brief sequence when Griffith steps out in front of a curtain at the top of the movie and talks to the audience about the film, using an early sound-on-film process. Unfortunately, most theaters couldn't show this prologue since they didn't have proper sound playback systems.
