[edit] Information

Dream 107.2 is a local radio station serving Central Hampshire mainly focussing on Winchester & Eastleigh. The station launched in 1999, under Radio Investments Ltd, as WIN 107.2. The slogan at the time was "Best Music, Breaking News". WIN 107.2 was then sold to The Local Radio Company where it became 107.2 Win FM to fit in with the rest of the names of TLRC stations. Dream 107.2 still comes from the studios that Win FM was launched in from The Brooks Shopping Centre in Winchester.

It is a small station, transmitting to about 69,000 people in Winchester and Central Hampshire on 107.2 MHz FM and online [2].

The station was sold to Tindle Radio by The Local Radio Company in September 2006.

[edit] Local Information

Dream 107.2 is said to pride itself on its local information for Central Hampshire. Dream 107.2 normally makes an appearance at the switching on of the Winchester Christmas Lights, and also the annual Guy Fawkes night Firework Display at the North Walls Recreation Ground. Tindle have also recently introduced "Street Teams" where you can request for your local radio station to be at your events.

[edit] Listening Figures

The recent RAJAR listener figures for Win FM have been disappointing. Although the listenership has increased, this must be taken in to account against the local radio market comparing like with like

Following the loss in audience, Tindle Radio relaunched the station under the new name Dream 107.2 on 5th October 2007[1]. It is expected that this will reignite the interest of a potential local audience. However with the impact of Wave 105 and the relaunched local BBC service, only time will tell if the new name and production will have any effect.
