[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Drake and Josh.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Drake and Josh.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 21:05, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Alvin and the Chipmunks 2‎

Hi, do you have any sources for the existence of the Alvin and the Chipmunks 2‎ film. Just checked a few sites and there doesn't see to be any evidence that the film has been made, which is a bit odd for a film due out in a few months? FlowerpotmaN·(t) 01:58, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Alvin and the Chipmunks 2

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Alvin and the Chipmunks 2, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Alvin and the Chipmunks 2. Fredrick day (talk) 01:58, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Alvin and the Chipmunks 2

I have nominated Alvin and the Chipmunks 2, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alvin and the Chipmunks 2. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. oh please... trying to change the tag is going to fool no-one - the article will be deleted, the image will be deleted. --Fredrick day (talk) 02:18, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Drake Bell Music.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:Drake Bell Music.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. FlowerpotmaN·(t) 03:38, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Image:Timthetoolman02.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:Timthetoolman02.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria.

If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the image can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 deleted ... and some other things

Since you tacitly admitted you created the poster for Alvin and the Chipmunks 2, I have speedily deleted it under speedy deletion criteria G3, since obvious hoaxes are considered vandalism. I've also deleted the poster as a derivative of a copyright violation, and have tagged another for speedy deletion for having an invalid rationale. Blueboy96 04:52, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Just a few thoughts....

Hi. Look at a guess you are probably a fan of Drake and Josh, and maybe Alvin and the Chipmunks. No problem there. And I could be wrong, but you probably think that some of the shows should have logos, even if they don't exist or there should be an article about a sequel, even if it hasn't gone into production.

But the problem is: Wikipedia is about reporting what is, not how we might like things to be. So if a film doesn't exist yet or is going to be released in a couple of years, so that reliable information about it isn't available, that's the way it is. If it (or when) it does come out, then there will be almost certainly an article on it. If there isn't a logo for a particular movie or episode, well unfortunately you creating one in Photoshop isn't going to change the situation.

To be fair, you have done good work on other articles, and I really hope you keep that up, but making articles before there is real information available or creating or uploading images with incorrect rationales isn't helping Wikipedia. FlowerpotmaN·(t) 05:10, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Witchdoctorsinglecover.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Witchdoctorsinglecover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Chris Poulos

A tag has been placed on Chris Poulos, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Chris Poulos and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Rnb (talk) 20:46, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
