Talk:Drainage system
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This natural land drainage is an aspect of Geography or Geomorphology and needs to be distinguished from such other drainage systems as surgical drainage, sewerage, storm drains, katabatic winds and fen drainage.(RJP 21:28, 23 May 2005 (UTC))
Not sure what the picture has to do with the drainage systems mentioned - or at least its relevance is not explained--Superbfc 18:04, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
- I assume the picture is supposed to show a radial drainage pattern, so I added that to the caption. It isn't the best graphic for showing drainage, but at least the caption is clearer now. As for distinguishing this page from other types of drainage systems -- if there are wikipedia pages on surgical, sewer, etc, drainage systems, we could make a disambiguation page. But it doesn't seem like there are other pages contending for the name... so, til then... Pfly 06:55, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
hopefully people arent thrown off by the spelling in the caption.. i mean, i think it's pretty radical, but thats not exactly a scientific adjective. ha ha poop.

[edit] 12 June 2007
From Roland 11:23, 12 June 2007 (UTC) . I have put "(Geomorphology)" behind the first definition of "drainage system" and added some information on "agricultural drainage systems".
[edit] Alternative drainage system diagrams
I've displayed the diagrams in each subsection, instead of just giving links. There are alternative diagrams available on Commons too, shown below. -- Avenue (talk) 09:00, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Removal of section on "annular drainage system"
The following was removed from the article (14:03, 14 February 2007).
[edit] Annular drainage system
Annular drainage systems are arranged in ring-shaped patterns around a central basin.
Why should it not be in the article? -- Wavelength (talk) 06:28, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
