[edit] Talk Page.

I decided to start up the talk page, so we can TALK about what's gonna happen with the article. I've added the First Source as a Scan, and cleaned up a tiny bit. ^_^. --Undead Pancake (talk) 02:08, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

You guys seriously messed up the article. I'm gonna make some changes to the style.UltimaFighter 13:11, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] What happened to references?

Seriously. Somebody fix the references. Somebody has gone and done something to it. And remove the links to YouTube. They really shouldn't be linked to if Atari are trying to remove them.--Kamiccolo33 (talk) 22:14, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Bardock?

Since when is Bardock confirmed? Give a link or something or he'll be out of there. I'm sick of people editing in characters that have NOT been confirmed.--Kamiccolo33 (talk) 00:59, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Learn to spell. Lex T/C Guest Book 15:27, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
What the hell Lex? All he did was attempt to give information while providing sources for his claims and you still find it necessary to criticize him for making a few minor grammatical errors? And then Wikipedia users wonder why so many people turn away from the site. Grow up, please. 72.152.135.75 (talk) 04:08, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Confirmed Characters table

I've placed all the confirmed characters in a Wikitable. This way it's more well-organized - at least I think it is. I was in doubt whether it should be put in a Wikitable, or in a navbox which you can collapse. For now I chose to do it this way, but if anyone feels it should be done in a different way, feel free to change it. Allthough just a list of characters (like it was before) is in my opinion not so nice looking. -Jort227 (talk) 22:37, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Um...

Well it says this game will be the first DBZ game to have in-game cut scenes but that was in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, and it also says that it is the first to have online play, but Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 already had that. Maybe someone should change that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.252.240.230 (talk) 03:53, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] US Release as Super Budokai?

Where has it been announced that Atari will be releasing the game as Super Budokai? Sarujo (talk) 13:16, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Pre-emptive protection

I don't mean literal protection as in locking the page, I mean some common-sense protection from idiots.

I suggest we turn the Character List into a table and add several invisible comments (The ones in the code, not visible on the article proper) reminding users they need to have a verifiable source for characters.

The character list and release date are going to be the hot topics for flame wars and vandalism, this is exactly what happened on the last three dragonball z game articles.

Obviously a character can only be added to the list if there is a verifiable source. Can we have a consensus/guideline/rule/restriction that says the only verifiable source is the official website for the game?

Does anyone remember the string of youtube links used as references and the inevitable flame wars about it being a different game or a fake or a mod or you needing to pause the high-res version of the video at exactly 1:24 to see a translucent false-colour image of SSJ3 Young Goku...

It is not up to us to decide on every single youtube video whether or not it comes from a reliable source. Aside from making a mess it's not exactly official. If we restricted the characters allowed to be added to be only the ones coming from the official site then things would be a lot lot smoother.

Sorry if I've angered anyone by suggesting a legislative change. If you disagree with me just say "I disagree" don't make a big argument about this and don't make personal attacks please. 193.128.87.36 (talk) 11:26, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Oh, I would edit the character list into a table and add comments myself but I always mess up the pagination when I try to use Wiki's special formatting options. 193.128.87.36 (talk) 11:27, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

I agree, there are too many people posting rubbish. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.252.228.104 (talk) 16:59, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] What rubbish is this?

Other fans hope it will at least reaches Buu saga, but internet game detective Charles Harles suspects this game has the fusion saga, which is one of the last Movie Saga that take place right after the Majin Buu Saga. "Hopefully fans will be happy with it going to fusion saga, then the next Burst Limit would have GT to cover." Charles says in an interview.

What... what the HELL? I don't know where to begin on this subject. Fusion Saga a "Movie Saga"? Internet game detective? This is all trash. The S (talk) 22:14, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

People like to give there opinions through internet crap like this, it's pathetic really. Did someone really think this is appropriate for an encyclopedia? Hahahaha... I don't even know where to begin pointing out the mistakes in that edit. Anyway, thanks for reverting this unsourced nonsense. 72.152.135.75 (talk) 04:05, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] New info

I added some new information about the game's use of in-fight cutscenes and support characters, which has been revealed by the first videos of gameplay. See [1] and especially [2] as a source. These were recorded last week at the Taipei Game Show 2008. Admeister200x (talk) - 6th February 2008

Thanks for that, that video has a lot of useful info. I've added things from it, but I'm having trouble with putting in a reference to it in the article. [edit] Playable Characters

The link confirming 35 playable characters is not a V-Jump scan. I assume it's safe to say it's been vandalized: http://img232.imagevenue.com/view.php?image=26190_a27_122_385lo.JPG --74.12.31.242 (talk) 15:58, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

That happens sometimes for some reason. Try a second time, but it DOES go to a V-Jump scan because I have used that link.--Kamiccolo33 (talk) 00:59, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Every time I click on this link a large man and woman pop up I guess the man is a rapper but I don't like rap so I don't know him. This link provides no proof of 35 playable characters as much as I wish it to be so I must edited it to 21 characters for those are the only ones confirmed and found ANYWHERE! --LordSatan (talk) 15:34, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Adult goten. please can you add him in because you still have enough time before june 5.

[edit] Sources for characters?

Can we start sourcing all the characters again? I've never seen evidence for some of these characters before. Takuthehedgehog (talk) 20:01, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] No Character Section without references.

The character list keeps getting made up without any evidence. Some people added the various fusions of Gotenks even though it has been reported the game only extends to the Cell saga.

Do not add characters that you have heard rumours about in a forum somewhere. Only add characters you can add references for.

Look at the page for Budokai Tenkaichi 2 or 3 to see how it should be done. Loo at the history page for those games to see what happened the last time fanboys kept adding people without references. 86.150.194.133 (talk) 19:44, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Let's face it the only real way to settle this problem is to just lock down the page. Otherwise this war over the character roster is only going to get worse until the game is released. As I write Johnny542 has already put the character list back up and removed the story section. Sarujo (talk) 02:18, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
You're right. When I looked at the page just now I was about to remove the character list again with some comment like Putting The Word CONFIRMED In The Section Title Does Not Count As A Reference. But I came here first and you're right, it is just going to devolve into an edit war. What I might do is try to build a table of confirmed characters with real references (Not Youtube videos) by copying the table from Tenkaichi 3. If the table has just five characters in it then it'll be a start and it might (Hopefully) inspire people to follow suit and reference characters properly. But then again, I might not make the table at all, it depends how bored I get at work tomorrow. 86.150.196.127 (talk) 23:38, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
WOW, I just saw the page on Tenkaichi 3, it's changed a lot since I last saw it. That's what you get for taking a wikibreak I guess. Anyway, ignore what I said about copying the table from there since the table I meant doesn't exist there anymore. 86.150.196.127 (talk) 23:47, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Maybe we should put together a list of references here before integrating them into the article?Takuthehedgehog (talk) 01:25, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

What do you think? Idealy the names for the characters and the transformations should come from the bandaigames site but I can't read japanese so I'm going to trust that Taku got them right.193.128.87.36 (talk) 14:17, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

I was just using what they were translated as in the Budokai games. Takuthehedgehog (talk) 01:01, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Oh, ok. Thanks though. There's been a bit of a dispute with a particular user, he uses an IP Address (Addmittedly so do I, but I'm on a wikibreak) and can't seem to work out Talk Pages or Edit Summaries so keeps putting his replies in the article. We had a few arguments but I think it should be settled now. One of his(Or indeed her) major beefs was with the table format, I choose a table because with the huge character list of Tenkaichi 3 it was a lot tidier but he (or she) is right, it looks kinda dumb to have a table for only a dozen referencable characters. Plus fixing the random edits is a lot harder if people keep breaking the table code. So I made it into a list instead of a table. There has also been some dispute over the names used, specifically Super Trunks and Super Vegeta. Is there any English information out about the character names yet, like an English version of the bandai games site? If not, can someone translate it please, lol. It'd be better to get a definitive answer rather than fight back and forth over what it should be.81.153.24.7 (talk) 20:11, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
There's an English site[44] but its flash, so you can't directly link to a section of the site. Also, I went through and got references for the characters that appear in the three trailers on the Japanese site. Everyone that appears in the first or second trailer appears in the third, so I just referenced the third trailer for all of them. Takuthehedgehog (talk) 22:02, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Semi Proctection

The character list is finally referenced but it keeps getting removed in favour of rampant speculation. Is there an option between edit-war and semi-protection? Can one protect a specific section?86.150.194.219 (talk) 16:19, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure if that is possible, but when we get a (semi-)protection from this page, I'd suggest we put the table with the referenced characters back up. I looks better IMO than what we have now, which is just a list of characters. -Jort227 (talk) 08:42, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
I agree, it looks a lot more professional than the list, but an IP Adddress kept vandalising it because he didn't like the table, it was easier to make it a list than to keep fixing the table code. And the table looked a bit weird at first with less characters, it's not so bad now there're more, maybe in a few weeks when there're even more characters we can put it back in a table.193.128.87.36 (talk) 13:54, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Ok so now someone just decided to get rid of the list alltogether. I decided to put it back, since all characters who were in the list, had references. But man, it's annoying that people keep editting stuff like this. -Jort227 (talk) 19:40, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Super Vegeta / Super Trunks

There has been some dispute over the terms "Super Vegeta" and "Super Trunks". One vandal in particular insists on changing it to Ascended Saiyan and leaving rude comments. One person even edited it to "Super Ascending Saiyan".

I can't speak Japanese so I couldn't translate the website name directly, but I did manage to cheat.

If you look at the word for the transformation "Super Vegeta" it contains the same letters as Vegeta's name with an extra one at the start. The same is true for "Super Trunks", there's the same extra symbol then the letters for "Trunks".

The transformation for "Goku- Super Saiyan" has that extra letter at the start then the same letters as Wikipedia's own translation of the word "Saiyan" so that extra letter is definately the word "Super".

Which means the transformations are called "Super Trunks" and "Super Vegeta". This diagram confirms it. http://img389.imageshack.us/img389/3117/proofmn7.png

Just wanted to help clarify things. 193.128.87.36 (talk) 12:58, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Ok ok, I am being a dick and I do promise to stop now and I will accept the Super Vegeta/Trunks names, it's not something of great importance anyway just a trivial matter, I'm glad you liked my very childish yet still funny penis joke, peace out.

[edit] I got a Whole lot of Questions so little time...

Hello everyone and anyone on this talk I have a lot of questions and would like answers not GUESSES please and thank you kind sirs. I have not been playing DBZ games in years but I played the demo and this is an old school version with updated graphics and the demo alone rekindled my lost love of the game! So...

1. When is the Game coming out is there a release date? I saw it said June 2008 but when June 2008?

2. When will the release the complete list of characters I really hope they let you play as Debora (the devil dude) he kicks ass, LOL!

3. How much will this game cost? $60.00 $50.00 maybe if I'm lucky $40.00?

Thank you all and please reply as soon as possible thank you! --LordSatan (talk) 12:58, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

First of all look on the Burst Limit page and it tells you and you didn't say where you're asking when it's going to be released, Dabura won't be in it because it only goes up to the Cell saga and he's in the Majin saga and with the price you didn't ask for what console, in pounds it will probably be 40-45 on the 360 and 40-50 on the PS3 And yes that is a guess but it's an estimated guess so live with it —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.145.177.113 (talk) 15:13, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] King Cold?

Ok someone had king cold posted up the other day and now he's GONE! Tell me this is a joke I was hoping to play as hmmm... And when will all the characters be posted hmmmm? —Preceding unsigned comment added by LordSatan (talk • contribs) 13:35, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

King Cold isn't playable. As for when all the characters will be posted, most likely after the game is released. Admeister200x (talk —Preceding comment was added at 04:38, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 21 or 35?

I see on Wikipedia it says there are 35 characters "Excluding Transformations" this was changed to "Including Transformations" and back to "Excluding" so which is right and which is wrong? I went to the Official site and they only have 21 spaces including the shaded spaces with the unrevealed characters that it seems you have already listed. So I guess I'm asking are there going to be 21 or 35 characters in this game (not including transformations).

Also thank you for answering my questions before I might have came on a little rude I don't mean to be thank you... --LordSatan (talk) 13:57, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Well if the official site says there is 21 then there must be 21, or they don't want to tell you just how many yet, we'll have to wait a few weeks to find out. Oh and looking back and reading my reply to your last question I also might have come off as rude (I do a lot =/) so yeah sorry man, also sorry I couldn't give a definitive answer

Tis ok kind sir, thank you for trying (: I hope they have 35, 21 seems on the low side if you ask me... Also who put the 35 characters up there in the first place were is there source sited? Also I am happy someone fixed it so Cell has a Super Perfect Forum I'm sure he has one. Oh and who are you? Two people responded to my posts?--LordSatan (talk) 15:10, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Hmm I'm not too bothered about how many characters they have on the first Burst Limit, I'm just happy they're making it as it's something I've been saying they should make for years. Me? I'm just an unregistered DBZ fanatic and the same person who answered your two questions —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.145.177.113 (talk) 09:58, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

No man I mean like who are you? Not "WHO ARE YOU TO COMMENT ON MY QUESTION!" You seem like a cool guy and I didn't want to bring this up on the discussion because its "not" a forum which it pretty much is but if you have the 360 and can play online I'd like to play with ya and that goes for everyone else my gamer tag is KnightTemplar48 (No space).

Also I edited that there are only 21 characters which is the real number of players so who edited it back hmmmm? --LordSatan (talk) 13:35, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Oh right I see what you mean, I didn't take it the way you thought though I thought you were just like "He's unregistered who is he" I shall add you in a sec my GT is The Answer Boy (quite funny as I've been trying to answer your questions) oh and I feel your pain with the RRoD, I had it too but my 360's been pretty good since But yeah don't want to be spamming so....maybe someone is hoping there'll be more characters and doesn't want to accept the 21...and now it says there's 22 characters strange

[edit] Multiplayer Offline?

In DBZ Burst Limit will there be a Multiplayer Offline like most of the previous DBZ games? If you are having a hard time understanding what I am asking I mean is there going to be a "zone" or "game type" that will allow two people to play against each other on the same exact console with two controllers? I only ask this because it is not stated Thank you --LordSatan (talk) 16:08, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Not much is known about this game so far. Please look at this sites for more info IGN and Gamespot. --SkyWalker (talk) 04:10, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

I would be extremely surprised if the Vs. was only online, doesn't seem like something Dimps would do, of course that's just my opinion, I have no idea whether they've said there will or will not be and as there's only about 9 days left till it comes out (On my birthday too which is cool) I don't mind waiting

[edit] Screenshot Added

Feedback please. Denton22 (talk) 17:09, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Just thought I'd add this to the latest section in the discussion, I was really REALLY looking forward to this game, and I'm seriously disappointed in it, it's an ok game but seriously way too short (completed in mere hours) Budokai 3 is still the best DBZ game ever, I hope Burst Limit 2 lives up to Budokai 3 :( —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.145.177.113 (talk) 09:42, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

I thought there already was a screenshot in this article (it was a good one too)... Admeister200x (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 14:38, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
