[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Sheriff Brody.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Sheriff Brody.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Quentin X (talk) 20:10, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Notice of temporary injunction

There is currently a temporary injunction that applies to all editors while this arbitration case is open. The injunction was enacted on February 3, 2008 and it reads:

"For the duration of this case, no editor shall redirect or delete any currently existing article regarding a television series episode or character; nor un-redirect or un-delete any currently redirected or deleted article on such a topic, nor apply or remove a tag related to notability to such an article. Administrators are authorized to revert such changes on sight, and to block any editors that persist in making them after being warned of this injunction."

-- Pairadox (talk) 01:00, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

They were removed on the 2nd. You added new, different tags on the 6th, 3 days after the arbitration started, so I had to remove them again. Dr. Stantz (talk) 04:27, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Unless you are an admin enforcing the injunction, this applies to your edits as well. No exceptions for removing ones placed after the 3rd. Pairadox (talk) 04:29, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
To quote you "nor apply or remove a tag related to notability to such an article". Why do you get to break the rules???Dr. Stantz (talk) 04:32, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
I have not changed the status of an article since being informed of the injuction. That does not mean that you get to go around reverting things to their pre-3rd status and claiming the injuction justifies your actions after being informed. Pairadox (talk) 04:34, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
You readded them after finding out about it, did you not? Dr. Stantz (talk) 04:36, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
So you admit that you removed tags after being informed? Pairadox (talk) 04:42, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Being a bit snotty aren't we? Enforced the policy, to be fair to the article Dr. Stantz (talk) 04:46, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
I'm sure you know the policy about No personal attacks, and unless you're an admin it's not your place to "enforce" the injunction (not policy). Pairadox (talk) 04:50, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Please stay off my page, if you want to talk I'm willing to continue on YOUR page, as I frequently wipe old, pointless messages on my page. Thanks oh, and you might wanna click this: Wikipedia:Don't call the kettle black Dr. Stantz (talk) 04:55, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

(outdent) That hardly applies, as I didn't call you "snotty." Pairadox (talk) 05:01, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Well I consider some of your comments a bit snotty, in my opinion on MY wiki page. Also there, is no bright-line rule outside the "never acceptable" section. And according to that page, "Frequently, the best way to respond to an isolated personal attack is not to respond at all. Wikipedia and its debates can become stressful for some editors, who may occasionally overreact." So Thanks. Dr. Stantz (talk) 05:11, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Throwback Uniform picture on US Navy Uniform article

Good call on the picture. Looks good... I just hope that we go with them. Now if I can just get time to clean the REST of the article up and get some actual pics of the NWU and NSU instead of the Task Force Uniform proposal pics! Supersquid (talk) 03:42, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. I think it'd look better with 4 buttons and drop the sewn in belt, but yeah it is a nice design (they should have done the pictures with the normal cover/hat instead of the Garrison hat though) Dr. Stantz (talk) 17:12, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Rabbs Ribbons

Actually, I used Adobe Photoshop CS to organize the ribbons and adding the award/campain stars. Neovu79 (talk) 06:20, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Roy Scheider.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Roy Scheider.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 23:49, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Albert Jethro Chegwidden JAG.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Albert Jethro Chegwidden JAG.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 22:29, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
