[edit] Weasel Words/Original Research

User:Roadhockey readded, "This is generally considered the highlight of the year." I removed it again as it contains weasel words and original research. Epson291 23:31, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

No one cares.

[edit] Alliance

One or more anon editors (I don't know how IPs work but i wouldn't be surprised if they are computers here at the school) insists on blanking a mention of the gay-straight alliance. These are becoming increasingly prominent in the YRDSB and though biased as a member, I feel it is worth a mention. If there are legitimate editorial reasons not to include it, I'm all ears, But, while I encourage all people try out Wikipedia, an anonymous user's (I hesitate to even say "editor's") editorial decisions carry less weight for me. There are loads of clubs at any school and clearly you are mentioning this specific one because you are a member. It is not an encyclopedic approach and this should be edited out in the same way that mentioning "many subject's are available at this fine institution including math" Roadhockey 22:17, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm much happier with the current revision, which does not mention any clubs at all. The deletion of the one was fishy to me, given its prominence in the local school board, allegations of bias notwithstanding (if someone who did not attend the school had mentioned the GSA, would it be "encyclopaedic"?)

No it would be just as arbitraryRoadhockey 13:31, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

As I say, the article as it stands now is less editorially suspect, though the phrase "like any high school" strikes me as a bit informal. Carolynparrishfan 08:44, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

I changed that, see what you think. Roadhockey 13:04, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
