Dr. Kasaraneni Sadasivarao

Dr. Kasaraneni Sadasivarao was a prominent surgeon, politician, philanthropist and educationalist in Andhra Pradesh. He hailed from Takkelapadu in Guntur district. [1]
Coming from a farming family, he was the first one in his family to become a doctor. He married Chalasani Jayapradamba, who was also a doctor. Together, they provided healthcare for the people of Guntur for nearly 40 years.[2] He also helped two of his brothers become doctors - late Kasaraneni Satyanarayanarao and Kasaraneni Manmadharao. He has two sons - Kasaraneni Ramesh and Kasaraneni Suresh, who are both surgeons; and three daughters who are also doctors. Dr Sadasivarao started the Peoples Nursing Home in Guntur, where thousand of people were treated and many young doctors were trained.
After the death of his wife, he retired from public life and he now lives in his family home in Guntur. In memory of his spouse, he started Dr. Jayapradamba Degree College in Guntur, which aims to provide education at an affordable price for youngsters. He was also the founding secretary of Nagarjuna Educational Society and served as its President for a number of years. During his tenure, the society expanded hugely and now serves as a storng educational institution in the district. [3]
He was the Member of Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly (MLA) for Pedakorapadu constituency in the 1980s (Telugu Desam Party) and remained one of the few non-corrupt politicians of AP. [4] He recently published his autobiography titled "Sadasiva", which takes people back to pre-independent times. His life story is truly intriguing and entertaining.
