Dr. Catherine Bancoft is a fictional character soon to appear on the television series ER. She will be portrayed by Angela Bassett. The character will be added to the regular cast during the shows fifteenth and final season, appearing from episode two. The character will replace outgoing Kari Matchett's character Dr. Skye Wexler as the Chief of Emergency Medicine at County General hospital. Little is known of the character at present expect for the fact that she worked in Indonesia following the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami.
