[edit] North Korea pics

thanks again for the pictures - how do you get a hold of them? Icactus 17:49, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi, Icactus, sincerely, I don´t know how to answer your mail. So I'll just write here hoping you can read it.

I visited DPRK on 2005 and I have a strong interest on it. So I asked some of the members of my trip to mail me the images. I also look for images (as well as information) in the "official" NK media: www.kcckp.net .

I hope this can answer your question, hehe :)

[edit] Your edits to North Korea

Thanks for your contribution of pictures for the North Korea page. Please be careful when adding text to make sure it is presented from a neutral viewpoint. Issues like the "defector stories" should be explained sceptically but should also avoid dismissal. The more neutral sounding the writing, the more people will accept what is being said instead of reverting it a calling it "propaganda". Thanks for the additions! Icactus 15:53, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Huichon Tool-Machine Factory

A tag has been placed on Huichon Tool-Machine Factory, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -FeralDruid 19:08, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Changed the tag from db-advert to db-corp, pending author's reasoning why this entry is notable. -FeralDruid 19:53, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

I've initiated a "talk" about the topic, have you look it up? Thank you, anyway. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dprk48 (talkcontribs)

You've initiated a talk, but I noticed you've also created pages on other factories. As with this one, why are these other factories important? -FeralDruid 20:04, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I explained my reasons in Huichon Factory talk. If my reasons are acceptable, I will continue writting information about MAIN economical units (factories, collective farms) of North Korea, for those who are interested in the topic. I think it's not easy to find information and it would be good for those interested.

[edit] Your articles

The articles you wrote did nothing to assert why the factories where notable with references. That's why they were deleted. --Steve (Stephen) talk 06:40, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your North Korea entries

It would appear an admin agreed with me, that the entries in question weren't notable. Please read the section on notability, mentioned in Stephen's message above.

I'd like to suggest, again, what I mentioned on the talk page for the tool factory -- rather than outline specific factories, instead discuss North Korean industry in general. In other words, don't discuss Thus and Such Specific Factory, instead discuss the tool trade as a whole, the glass-making trade as a whole, the silk-making trade as a whole. I think you'll have much more success keeping these topics around. But as I mentioned earlier, discussing a specific factory in a random town in a random province isn't notable. For example, I could discuss the Mead paper factory in Chillicothe, Ohio, but it's just not important. However, discussing the U.S. paper industry as a whole is important. So try this approach instead.

Finally, you might consider removing the additional factory-specific entries you've created for the wood factory, the glass factory, etc. Again, they're articles about specific factories, when what you really want are discussions of those industries as a whole. I'd recommend taking a look at the Economy of North Korea and North Korea pages, and see how you might improve them by expanding the information already present. Good luck! -FeralDruid 06:44, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
