[edit] Tools

Hi. I also use CryptoDerk's Vandal Fighter for spotting vandalism (a good tip is to add editors who you see making frequent reverts of vandalism to you "whitelist", then configure the tool to highlights edits by those users who have been reverted by editors on your whitelist - you'll then spot repeat vandals more easily).

For reverting, I use the "Godmode light" script - created by Sam Hocevar.

For adding comments to user talk pages I simply have the following text in notepad, which I copy and alter as required.

{{subst:test1-n|}} ~~~~

There is probably a script that I could use to make this easier, but I haven't looked into it. You might want to have a look in Wikipedia:WikiProject User scripts and see what you can find.

Hope this helps! Cheers TigerShark 03:31, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Invite to join WP:Wine

Howdy! I've noticed your contribution on several wine articles, including Pinot Noir and would like to invite you to join the Wikipedia WineProject. One of the task that we are currently trying to do is get Pinot Noir up to Feature Article status. We would love to have you on the Team. :) Agne 10:07, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Disambiguation Talk Request

This is a form message being sent to all WikiProject Disambiguation participants. I recently left a proposed banner idea on the WikiProject Disambiguation talk page and I would appreciate any input you could provide. Before it can be approved or denied, I would prefer a lot of feedback from multiple participants in the project. So if you have the time please join in the discussion to help improve the WikiProject. Keep up the good work in link repair and thanks for your time. Nehrams2020 21:24, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cat 5 cable max length

Dude:

Why did you say 90m is the length limit for Ethernet Cat 5 cable, when IEEE Std 802.3-2005 (along with every other source on the internet) says it is 100m for 100BASE-TX & 1000BASE-T? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.62.217.13 (talkcontribs) .

There are two sources of apparent confusion in your question:
Firstly, don't confuse UTP cables with Ethernet cables. One of the goals of structured cabling systems is to provide an infrastructure that supports multiple services, not just Ethernet. IEEE defines Ethernet, but TIA-568B defines structured cabling. IEEE-802.3 references TIA-568B.1 for cabling specifications.
Secondly, don't confuse channels with horizontal cables. The maximum length of the entire channel (horizontal cable + patch cords + work area cables + equipment cables) varies from as low as 98m to as much as 100m, depending upon the length of the horizontal cable. The horizontal cable can never be longer than 90m.
Hope this helps!

[edit] My edits to Talk:Infant formula

FYI I wasn't replying to your comments, but replying to the original comment from 63.3.16.2 - that's why I used 1 level of indentation instead of 2. You are correct however that the talk page is not the place for my sarcasm, so I've changed the text. Ciotog 05:46, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thapsacus

Biblical/secular means Biblical/all the rest: that is, "bibliocentrism" -if such a word exists!. Furthermore, the Babylonian references are temple documents, so they are neither secular, nor biblical. To make sense with the historical context, it's better to categorize it according to the place where it is found: 1- classical writers, 2- the Biblie, 3- Babylonian documents. We can remove the "alleged" from the title, in fact it'd be better say it in the text itself. About the 1911 quotation, we can add more modern quotes, or merge it in another section.--Amizzoni 02:52, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

PS: I like the subject, so think in a couple of days I'll look for more bibliography to expand the article. I think that the modern references should be merged into the discussion on the location. The "references" system is useful as a summary, but mekes further discussion more difficult. --Amizzoni 03:33, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
I'd like a division classical/biblical/Babylonian, because it's the usual categorization of primary sources talking about Ancient Near East history. I think that the moden quotations should be marged into the main text, so they could be used for discussion. In a few days I'll expand the "location" section with updated info, so you'll tell me what do you think.--Amizzoni 19:03, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wine Project activity

This is a friendly note to let you know that you have been moved to the Inactive members page of the Wine Project. Users are moved to this page when two months have passed without any Wikipedia activity or 3 months have passed without any contribution to a wine related article. The intent of the Participant list is to function as a resource for other editors wishing to get in contact with wine project members for comments or question on Wikipedia's wine article. The goal of this process is to try and maintain the Wikipedia:WikiProject Wine/Participants as current and up to date as possible with active and contributing members. Please note that this is not intended to be a negative reflection on your Wikipedia or wine related contribution and it is well known that sometimes outside life can take editors away from Wikipedia for some time. You will always be welcomed to rejoined the Wine Project should you feel that the time is right. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me on my talk or on the Wine Project talk page. Best wishes. AgneCheese/Wine 22:11, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
