[edit] E (PC DOS)

There is no personal offense intended regarding ProD/AfD tags. The infobox (with nice screenshot) and references helps... my major concern is the importance of the subject. Is E really notable (especally since it came along fairly late in the game, as far as DOS utilities go)? I would say probably not, however be it noted that I'm an ex-IBM'r and an avid supporter of IBM nostalgia, and I have a special place in my heart for those who contribute to IBM-related articles. That being said, I added an importance tag to the top of the article, but I won't re-ProD it. Good job on your first article! /Blaxthos 02:23, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Whole Life Insurance

Whole life insurance: sorry, no references other than personal experience, education, and dialogue with industry veterans. Aaronchall 06:00, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Maybe you are living in Newark

I haven't heard of Prudential before coming to USA, because the company does not have the anvergure of a Meryll-Lynch or Goldman Sachs. When the company is rather unknown, its logo cannot be better. It's not like we are talking about the MacDonald's M, or the two circles for Mastercard, or the hammer and the sickle. It is a national company, it could be your personal experience, but this doesn't make it worthy of a worldwide encyclopedia. Your propaganda is what will, in the end, make it a world-class logo.

"propaganda"? – 2*6 21:06, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
OK, call it advertisement if you feel more confortable. (Esp. when one comes from a communist background) the difference between advertisement and propaganda is that the former offers more mundane rewards than the latter. In propaganda at last the transmitter might believe the message... which is what I believe you are doing. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.32.229.23 (talk) 06:38, 29 January 2007 (UTC).
... and well, it's not like "your propaganda" will be enough, but a few tens of people like you, self confident, with access to the new media, and constantly repeating the mantra, can make it... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.32.229.23 (talk) 06:40, 29 January 2007 (UTC).
For the record, I have no affiliation with Prudential. It doesn't really matter to me if their logo is well known or not. It just happens to be so. – 2*6 06:49, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:E screenshot.png

Hello, Dozen. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:E screenshot.png) was found at the following location: User:Dozen/E (text editor family). This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 02:26, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use disputed for Image:John Hancock logo.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:John Hancock logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:36, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:NorthwesternMutualLogo.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:NorthwesternMutualLogo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:41, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
