Doyline is a village in Webster Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 841 at the 2000 census.

Doyline was the home of a colorful and conservative state senator, Harold Montgomery (1911-1995), a Texas native who served from 1960-1968 and again from 1972-1976.

Doyline is located at 32°31′53″N, 93°24′37″W (32.531282, -93.410145)[1].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 8.6 km² (3.3 mi²), all land.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 841 people, 325 households, and 235 families residing in the village. The population density was 97.5/km² (252.5/mi²). There were 359 housing units at an average density of 41.6/km² (107.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 79.90% White, 17.12% African American, 0.12% Asian, 0.12% from other races, and 2.73% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.71% of the population.

There were 325 households out of which 32.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.8% were married couples living together, 15.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.4% were non-families. 25.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 3.08.

In the village the population was spread out with 26.0% under the age of 18, 12.1% from 18 to 24, 25.8% from 25 to 44, 23.4% from 45 to 64, and 12.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 93.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.5 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $34,063, and the median income for a family was $36,875. Males had a median income of $30,536 versus $21,563 for females. The per capita income for the village was $16,218. About 12.4% of families and 18.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 34.7% of those under age 18 and 15.1% of those age 65 or over.

On August 24, 2006, an explosion of the Explo Systems Inc. site at Camp Minden led to the evacuation of 600 students nearby but caused no injuries or fatalities. The site was a former U.S. Army ammunition plant where military bombs are disassembled and recycled. [3]
