Wikipedia:Meetup/Boston shows two upcoming meetups. I could use some help promoting them, at least to the others who signed up on that page. Can you make either day?

[edit] Iwo page move

For future reference, pages should be moved using the "move" command at the top of the page and not by copying and pasting. A copy/paste page move leaves behind the page's history, which we are required to keep for compliance with the GFDL.

I've deleted your duplicate page at Iwo, Nigeria and created a redirect to Iwo. There's no pressing need to move the page that I can see, so I didn't. -- Cyrius| 03:06, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)

It's okay, this can be fixed. Just hang on. -- Cyrius| 03:13, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Done. Iwo, Nigeria now has the revision history it should, and Iwo is a disambiguation page with the correct author in an edit summary. -- Cyrius| 03:15, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] International Worker's Order

Hi Brian,

I don't know too much about the organization, but I started an article on it during the late Presidential campaign since it was peripherally in the news. I will be very interested to watch the progress of your work on it, though.

Having grown up in New York City in a Democratic/socialist family, I have a general interest in socialist and labor movements, especially the huge variety there were and are in NYC, but not too much time to actively pursue the interest there days. Cheers! -- Cecropia | explains it all ® 05:22, 14 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] hmm...

[[1]] Come out and play! Or just help plan the next meetup. +sj + 07:13, 26 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] List of entities

Hello, Brian. I'll have to ask you to bear with me while I'm working on the micro entries which are still being built. I've reinstated the entities link on the philately by country page as it is obviously relevant there. My reason for the previous edit was to move the "see also" link into the micro category but I agree it will be useful in both places.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused. --Jack 08:55, 15 August 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply, Brian. All the best. And good luck with AmeriCorps: brilliant concept which we could do with over here. --Jack 19:18, 15 August 2005 (UTC)
As of very recently, that's all over for me now! It is a very good program though. Of course, it sounds like Bush has all but gutted it with funding cuts. --Brian Z 13:55, 18 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Feminism article

Brian, thank you for your comment/suggestion re the Feminism page and my (small) paragraph addition. I'm a newbie and at the time hadn't quite worked out how to add the link. It's there now.

Ahhh, if only there were more time. What a wonderful community this is! BCseawalker 17:53, 3 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Localization of joy

Hey Brian, long time no see! Three notes of local significance:

  • The Ignobels are coming up. Want to join a delegation? We would need six Wikipedians and some style
  • Meetup two Mondays from now : guests from the Museum of Science and Jimbo's fine self
  • Wikimania in Boston next year? We need volunteers and suggestions!

Cheers, +sj + 08:38, 16 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Hi Brian

Not really sure, where I got it, was on the Web, but the actual pic file is associated with the Molly Maguires, of which [ POTW ] deleted it from the [article]. I really don't think that was necessary. User presently has an [ RFC ] against him. Go.com is probably where I got it from a while back. http://go.com somewhere. Pre-1900's. Regards Scott 16:32, 29 October 2005 (UTC)

It appears to come from here: same file. Tearlach 12:06, 30 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Liberty

I've edited the Individualist feminism page with an explicit wikilink to the publication in question. Revkat 19:59, 29 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Mahmoud Ahmedinejad

Hey Brian. I didn't insert that statement, I just reverted the unexplained removal of it by an anonymous IP. Aside from that, I somewhat agree with the statement because Ahmedinejad is well-educated, far more than previous presidents. But like I said, I didn't insert it. Thanks --a.n.o.n.y.m t 16:15, 30 October 2005 (UTC)

Oh you meant the government itself. Well I think that would require some research although it is fairly known that Ahmedinejad looked over the past education for positions in his cabinet. I will see what I can find, but I wouldn't exactly mind rewording it slightly. --a.n.o.n.y.m t 16:22, 30 October 2005 (UTC)

Hey Brain. This is my final word on this whole subject. It's not really a positive thing to focus on, but let me know if there's anything else you want to know. --Aucaman 12:36, 31 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Scottfisher/ Molly Maguire Coffin Notice

On User talk:Scottfisher, you said:

Image:Molly_coffinnotice.gif says its been released in the public domain by its creator, you. However, you're obviously not the creator! I am going to assume this IS public domain though, because I know it was originally included in a trial record in 1876. Please site your exact source if you can, thanks. --Brian Z 15:47, 29 October 2005 (UTC)

I added:

One of many such instances; see Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images#Phase I - October_21. Andy Mabbett 11:16, 31 October 2005 (UTC)

but Scott deleted my comemnt, without responding to it; so I'm putting it here for you to see. Andy Mabbett 09:46, 2 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Cottonseed oil pesticide issues

Just wanted to let you know that I've removed the citation that you had for the statement that cottonseed oil is often contaminated. The link that you gave is no longer valid. Could you supply a new one? Thanks! Waitak 09:30, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hey Brian!

Hey, it's dell from new college. Leslie Jones told me you edited wikipedia! It's exciting to get back in touch with you. What are you up to these days? I'm still doing activism. Email me at delldot at gmail! Peace, delldot | talk 03:13, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
