Down the Drain

'Down the Drain' is a term in reference to water draining from a basin into plumbing and then into a sewer line. The term has come to meant various things in the Western English lexicon such as 'failure' or something wasted.

Despite traditional speculation, it is not true that Northern and Southern Hemispheres have liquids going down a drain in two different directions.

"Down the Drain" is the second episode in the fifth season of the popular American crime drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, set in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After a thunderstorm in Las Vegas, a body is washed up in the city drains. The team soon find another body to add to their investigative collection. The only problem is figuring out what happened to them.
