Ruth Dowell Middle School located on 311 Ridge Road, Mckinney, Texas. The Dowell Lions are known for their rich football tradition. There have been to 8th grade teams go undefeated. First the 1998 Dowell Lions had an unprececdented combine record of both "A" team and "B" team 16-0. Outscoring opponents 247-46. The second 8th grade bunch were 18-0 and outscored opponents 356-36. Led by Mckinney Boyd stand out quarterrback Darren Alves. This year the Lions 11-6-1. The lion were lead by quarterback Stacey Dillard. Stacey rushed for 1500 yards and threw for 2000. He also played defense had 7 interceptoins (team record) and 15 sacks.
