Doveton is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Its Local Government Area is the City of Casey. Doveton was recognised as it's own suburb as of 1997, after Doveton Heights Primary School and Myuna Farm were established. Prior to that, Doveton was between Dandenong South and Endeavour Hills. The suburb is known as very working class and finds itself at the bottom of the Melbourne property market almost every year, with an average property value of only AU$225,000.
[edit] Attractions
A big attraction is Myuna Farm, an interactive animal farm where people can come to meet farm animals. The farm has a train for children to ride to the outer sections of the farm. It is a popular venue for children and hosts an annual Christmas carol event.[3]
[edit] Education
- Schools within Doveton include Dandenong High School (Doveton Campus) – formerly known as Doveton Secondary College and previous to that known as Doveton Tech – As well as two state primary schools (Doveton North P.S and Doveton Heights which was formerly known as Doveton Primary) - and also one Catholic primary school (Holy Family Primary School). - There used to also be Doveton High School which was later known as Joseph Banks Secondary College and there was also Doveton West Primary School but they closed back on the 90's when the government decided to cut schools everywhere and amalgamate them with other local schools.
