Dover High School (Ohio)

Dover High School is a public high school in Dover, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Dover City Schools district. The school's nickname is The Tornadoes. The school colors are crimson and gray. Dover is also home of the world famous teach Doug Willoughby.

Dover’s first school house was constructed in 1827 in a forested area on the south side of 4th Street (near the cemetery). There was a separate Negro School on West Front Street until 1917, at which time Dover’s school system became fully integrated.

Dover High School has a longstanding football rivalries with nearby New Philadelphia High School, having played 102 times since 1896. Dover High School is an all around athletic school. They are usually placing high in the county and in the ECOL (East Central Ohio League) because of their ability to compete in numerous sports. The best sports at Dover High School would have to be; football, boys basketball, boys soccer, girls cross country, swimming, boys and girls track, wrestling and volleyball. the softball team made the final four for the 1st time this season, 2008.
