Dover Station is a historic New Jersey Transit station in Dover, New Jersey. The station was originally built by the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad and was place on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.[1]. Both the Morristown Line and the Montclair-Boonton Line serve this station, with service to Hoboken or to New York City via Midtown Direct. On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, no trains travel further west than Dover.
Most outbound Morristown Line and Montclair-Boonton Line trains currently terminate at this station. These trains are either self-propelled Arrow III (Budd Company) electric cars or are pulled or pushed by electric engines. Only Diesel-electric engines may travel further up the line to Hackettstown.
