Alexander Maccabeus (63 BCE - 48 BCE) was the eldest son of Aristobulus II (87 BCE - 49 BCE), whom was the son of Alexander Jannaeus.[1] He married his cousin Alexandra Maccabeus (63 BCE - 28 BCE), daughter of his uncle, Hyrcanus II (78 BCE - 30 BCE). [2] Their grandfather was Alexander Jannaeus, the second eldest son of John Hyrcanus.[3] Their daughter was the Hasmonean Maccabeus Mariamne (second wife of Herod).
